Promoting Quality in Teacher Education

UCET Blog aims and purpose

The UCET Teacher Education Blog aims to be a vibrant digital platform where teacher educators across Higher Education institutions in the UK can connect, collaborate, and contribute to the knowledge, understanding and development of teacher education. Grounded in the principles of the Intellectual Basis of Teacher Education (UCET 2020) this blog space facilitates the sharing of knowledge and practices, insights and experiences, related to key educational issues, that will contribute to the field of teacher education.

In the spirit of collegiality and collaboration the intention of the blog is to cultivate a rich repository of professional knowledge and expertise drawn from across the sector, enabling teacher educators to share their research, opinions and scholarly work and evidence-based practices.

The blog will provide a dynamic forum to engage in meaningful dialogue about the evolving landscape of teacher education.  It will create opportunities for teacher educators to explore and reflect upon their practice through engagement with this scholarly activity and discourse, promoting professional growth and the continuous enhancement of our teacher education programmes, further supporting the preparation of future teachers.

Through this collaborative platform, we seek to strengthen the collective voice of teacher educators and encourage all teacher educators, whatever their level of experience, to contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality teacher education across the sector.   As such the blog represents UCET’s commitment to fostering a connected and informed community of teacher educators who are dedicated to advancing the profession through shared learning and collective wisdom.

Please note that the views expressed in blog contributions are those of the blog authors and not those of UCET as an organisation, though they should reflect the principles of the Intellectual Basis of Teacher Education (UCET 2020).
