The Foundation Degree is located on the Bognor Regis Campus and is a three year, part-time course for teaching assistants, taught on one day per week (Wednesdays or Fridays). We also offer the opportunity for Level 6 progression to a range of degrees and to QTS.

On the FdATLS Programme we are seeking to appoint an External Examiner with responsibility for the Bognor based route and the route delivered through our collaborative partnership with Havant South Downs College.

The Examiner would be expected to meet with the students, examine Level 5 assignments and attend an Exam Board in early July.

The School of Education and Sociology at the University of Portsmouth is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education. This is a new part-time provision, spanning two years, which has been specifically designed to support and develop early career teaching staff working at the University. The PgCHE is a core, non-integrated, element of an Academic Professional Apprenticeship, with approximately 40 course members in each cohort. The successful applicant should have knowledge and experience in supporting HE staff development and working with Masters’ level programmes.

The University of Wolverhampton requires module external examiners for the secondary PGCE courses, contributing to our undergraduate and postgraduate awards for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). External examiners are required to monitor the quality of the following subject areas:

We are seeking candidates whose areas of expertise would enable him or her to monitor the quality of the secondary ITT courses in their subject area and externally moderate assessed work.  The external examiner will comment on a sample of marked scripts for modules; undertake visits to partnership schools (usually in  May/June); meet a group of trainee teachers; attend the Module Board (usually the first Friday in July); and submit an annual report.  External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.
