The ‘Becoming a maths teacher’ page on the Get into Teaching website has been updated and is now live, building on the recently refreshed ‘Teach physics’ page.

Both pages aim to inspire candidates with a passion for maths and physics to apply for initial teacher training by providing useful information and links, including:

· How to get school experience

· Engaging with Teacher Training Advisors (TTAs)

We encourage you to share both webpages with your networks to help to increase the awareness of routes into teaching in these key priority subjects.

4. Initial Teacher Training Reforms: Guidance for schools

On 9th November 2023 we published guidance for all schools explaining the role of initial teacher training (ITT) placement schools from September 2024. The guidance sets out an overview of school placements, how to get involved in ITT through offering a placement and what offering a school placement involves. The guidance also sets out how schools can support accredited ITT providers to deliver the intensive training and practice element of ITT courses.
