TSP: Intensive Training and Practice Modules

Teacher Recruitment: We are delighted to have been awarded a 3-year ESRC grant to understand how recruitment messages influence the decision-making of STEM undergraduates who might consider teaching as a career. As part of this project, we’re working with game designers to build and test a ‘serious online game’ that is engaging, thought-provoking, and fun, with preliminary results already showing promise to increase interest in teaching as a career. We hope to be trialling the game in late 2023 - you can read more about the project here.

Intensive Training and Practice (ITaP): Over the last 8 years, we have been developing authentic classroom simulations with built-in features of self-reflection and tailored expert teacher feedback. Over the last few months, we have been adapting these online classroom simulations to meet the newly-mandated ITaP requirement.

In short, we are developing three x 4-session modules, focused on Behaviour Management, Adaptive Teaching, and Professional Practice (details in the attached brochure). The modules provide authentic and level-specific content, real-time tailored feedback from experts, and feedback reports, all built on our eight years of research with over 120,000 participants.
