KNSTE conference: Developing a Sense of Belonging (28th March 2023)

26 January 2023

KNSTE would like to invite you to join their free online conference
with a focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in teacher
education. We are building a partnership that is ambitious in relation
to its diversity, equity and inclusion responsibilities. We are
committed to creating a sense of belonging for everybody in our
partnership where we embrace our unique diversities. We recognise
that there are inequities in the education system that we wish to
challenge, including barriers in the workforce and the curriculum. We
are looking to particularly accelerate our endeavours over the next 3-
5 years. Our specific action plan aims to tackle many of the existing
barriers that we have identified and prioritised – recognising that
there is always more to do, as we work towards our inclusive values.
We are ambitious to go even further by ensuring that all our practices,
support the removal of systematic discrimination underpinned by our
shared ambition to improve the life chances and opportunities for
KNSTE colleagues, our trainees, mentors and the learners in their
communities. We hope that the conference will contribute towards
these ambitions.

We are delighted to welcome Hannah Wilson, as our key note speaker:

Hannah is passionate about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). As a Headteacher, she CoFounded #DiverseEd, as an inclusive annual event to explore intersectional identities. This has led to her speaking, writing, training
and coaching individuals and groups on the barriers and the solutions
for DEI in schools, including working with KNSTE. We hope that you can join us for this important and timely initiative.
