DfE: Apply for Postgraduate Teacher Training Pilot

13 February 2020

Recently Minister Gibb announced the launch of the Apply for Teacher Training pilot. He confirmed that the service is now live for select SCITTs and schools, and will be rolled out to more over the coming months, before being piloted with ‘early adopter’ HEIs from October 2020. Apply for Teacher Training will be the only route for postgraduate teacher training applicants from October 2021.

HEIs don’t need to wait until 2021, you can become an early adopter from October 2020.

Providers who opt in will gain early access to the new service and help to co-create its design. You will also benefit from joint communications with DfE, and will be able to work with us to design our data dashboard.

Although there will be support for all adopting universities during the transition, DfE will deliver close, tailored support for those early adopters.

Attached to this is our proposition pack. This details the rollout timeline and provides further information about the early adoption programme.
