2002: Dr Carol Tomlin, University of the West of England

The 2002 UCET Travel Scholarship winner, Dr. Carol Tomlin travelled to Wheelock College, Boston. Carol's purpose was to examine the Urban Teacher Programme at Wheelock College, in Boston, Massachusetts. The Programme has been recognised as a model of good practice, in terms of its recruitment procedures, student retention and preparing teachers to teach in culturally diverse urban settings.
