TDA Integrated Language Film

Last year a DVD on Integrated Language Learning was produced by Atomic Productions which shows the impact that teaching science through French can have on children’s language skills. Pippa Jacobs, a Primary Teacher features in the film and talks about the benefits there are to using Integrated Language Learning. There is also footage from trainee teachers and pupils. The film is approximately 12 minutes in length and follows a Year 6 class in Pippa’s school as they learn about forces in Science. The film ends with a school trip to France to see a Kite festival.

The TDA funded the production of the DVD as it came from latent demand by providers who wanted a film they could show trainees to demonstrate the benefits of Integrated Language Learning.
