National Drama: Subject Specific CPD
I am sure that you will be aware that TDA has funded key subject associations to create and maintain online subject-specific CPD. National Drama was commissioned to create the drama site and it will be going live ready for the beginning of the Autumn Term 2009.
It will offer units of study in four broad categories at three different levels of challenge, from beginner to M-level, and will offer material for both primary and secondary phases. We wish to offer a directory of M-level drama or drama-related courses available at universities in England but in addition we are in negotiation with Manchester Metropolitan University to accredit M-level units of study available on the ND CPD site.
We would warmly welcome hearing from UCET colleagues about M-level courses that they would wish us to place in the directory.
For your information I am attaching a pdf of the flyer that has been sent into all schools.
In tandem with this project, UCET colleagues may also like to know that in November ND is launching an new electronic research journal: Drama Research - international journal of drama in education; an international, peer-reviewed publication. I am therefore attached a pdf portfolio that provides a pdf preview of selected elements of the first issue and also guidelines for authors and personal and institutional subscribers. We are also providing the opportunity for HEIs to advertise courses that would be of interest to our home and international readership.
National Drama does hope that you will think this appropriate information to disseminate to UCET members. We would be very happy to attend a UCET meeting to discuss these projects further, if you felt it of value.
National Drama is a not-for-profit professional body.
