UCET Cymru

The aim of UCET Cymru is to be the definitive academic and professional voice of the higher education sector in Wales, on matters relating to initial teacher education and training, CPD and educational research. In pursuing this aim, UCET Cymru meets regularly with the National Assembly for Wales, the Higher Education Funding Council, ESTYN and the General Teaching Council for Wales. It responds to consultation documents issued by these bodies and maintains links with press and media in Wales, to ensure that the voice of university teacher educators is heard.

UCET Cymru meetings are held, in turn, across Wales in each of the member institutions. The Committee has also created task groups on primary ITET, secondary ITET, CPD and educational research. At the present time UCET Cymru is keeping a close watch on discussions relating to the future of ITET in Wales, following a major review by the Assembly.
