Masters in Teaching and Learning: Making it work

Please see the attached for UCET’s formal guidance to DCSF and the TDA on the development of the new MTL qualification for teachers.

UCET has given strong support to the principle of a Masters qualified teaching profession and we will do all we can to make the MTL a success. If it is to achieve its potential it will have to combine a practical focus on the needs of schools with the academic rigour associated with Masters level study. It will also have to be designed and delivered in genuine partnership by schools, HEIs and others stakeholders. And it will have to be flexible enough (in terms of delivery and content) to meet the needs of individual teachers and schools.
